The Christian Koppe Memorial, designed by Friedrich August Stüler and completed in 1855, stands in Berlin's Mitte district as a sandstone and iron monument. Stüler, a prominent Prussian architect of the nineteenth century, created this structure during a period of significant neoclassical and historicist building in the capital. The memorial's combination of durable materials—sandstone for its principal form and iron for structural or decorative elements—reflects mid-nineteenth-century monumental practice. Today recognized as an architectural heritage monument, it remains a testament to Berlin's commemorative culture during the reign of Frederick William IV.
