On the grounds of the Technical University of Berlin in the Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district stands a monument comprising Doric sandstone columns, designed by architect Friedrich August Stüler and erected in 1857. The columns are fashioned from sandstone and function as spolia—repurposed architectural elements that carry historical significance as sculptural objects in their own right. The work exemplifies Stüler's engagement with classical architectural vocabulary during the mid-nineteenth century.
