Church House, designed by Herbert Baker and situated at the south end of Dean's Yard beside Westminster Abbey in London's City of Westminster, serves as the administrative headquarters of the Church of England. The Grade II listed building houses offices for the Church Commissioners, the Archbishops' Council, and the Church of England Pensions Board, along with a chamber for the General Synod. During the Second World War, it provided a meeting place for Parliament, and after the war it hosted early organs of the newly formed United Nations, including the first meeting of the United Nations Security Council. In more recent decades, the building has hosted several major public inquiries.
