The Church of Saint Panteleimon of Acharnai is a Greek Orthodox basilica in central Athens and, by most measures, the largest church in Greece. Built in Byzantine Revival style, construction began on 12 September 1910 when King George I laid the foundation stone, and the church was consecrated on 22 June 1930. Measuring 63 by 48 meters, it occupies a prominent location near Acharnon Avenue, a major thoroughfare linking central Athens to its northern suburbs. The expansive interior—roughly 6,000 square meters of wall surfaces—was decorated over 23 years by Greek artist Giannis Karouzos (1937–2013), whose murals define the church's devotional character.
