The Church of the Incarnation, located at 111 North 5th Street in Highlands, North Carolina, is a historic Carpenter Gothic Episcopal church founded by Rev. John A. Deal in 1896. The original Victorian Gothic Revival wood-frame building, constructed that year, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996. In 2002, a new sanctuary was added to the property, converting the 1896 structure into a chapel. Two decades later, in 2020, the well-known ecclesiastical architectural firm Cram & Ferguson undertook a significant renovation aimed at expanding seating, achieving architectural consistency, incorporating Christian iconography, and improving community accessibility through new entrances to the sanctuary and bell tower. The parish remains active within the Episcopal Diocese of Western North Carolina.
