The Church of the Advent, completed in 1872 in Farmington, Minnesota, is a Carpenter Gothic Episcopal church designed by Richard Upjohn. Located at 412 Oak Street, the modest timber-frame structure was built to seat 70 worshippers and exemplifies the distinctive wooden Gothic Revival style characteristic of mid-nineteenth-century American rural churches. Following its addition to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, the original building has been preserved as a wedding chapel, while a larger sanctuary built in 1976 now accommodates the congregation's principal services.
