The Church of the Assumption, located in Phoenix within Houghton Township, Michigan, is a Carpenter Gothic Roman Catholic church built in 1858. Designed by Frederic Baraga, the structure exemplifies the Gothic Revival tradition rendered in wood rather than stone—a characteristic hallmark of the Carpenter Gothic style.
