The Church of the Sacred Heart in Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg is a Catholic parish church designed by Christoph Hehl, a professor of medieval architecture. Completed in 1898 after sixteen months of construction, the building presents a Neo-Romanesque exterior while sheltering a Neo-Byzantine interior adorned with murals by Friedrich Stummel. Now recognized as a Kulturdenkmal, or architectural heritage monument, the church exemplifies the stylistic complexity of late-nineteenth-century Berlin ecclesiastical architecture.
