Located in Salvador, Bahia, the Church of the Third Order of Mount Carmel is an 18th-century Roman Catholic church with construction beginning in 1644. Destroyed by fire in 1788, the church was subsequently rebuilt, with work completed in 1803. Its architectural style blends Baroque, Rococo, and Neoclassical elements. The substantial complex comprises a nave, chancel, choir, corridors, tribunes, meeting rooms, and sacristy, all richly decorated during the 18th century. The ceiling painting of the nave marks the first major work by José Teófilo de Jesus. The church stands adjacent to the Church and Convent of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and was designated a historic structure by IPHAN in 1938, forming part of Salvador's UNESCO World Heritage Historic Center.
