Cincinnati Music Hall, completed in 1878 at 1241 Elm Street in Cincinnati's Over-the-Rhine neighborhood, is a concert hall distinguished by its Venetian Gothic architecture. Designed with a dual purpose to house musical activities in its central auditorium and industrial exhibitions in its side wings, the building has served as home to the Cincinnati Ballet, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Opera, May Festival Chorus, and Cincinnati Pops Orchestra. Recognized as a National Historic Landmark in January 1975, Music Hall has hosted both classical music and pop/rock recording artists. Built over a pauper's cemetery, the venue acquired a reputation as one of America's most haunted places. After appearing on the National Trust for Historic Preservation's 2014 list of America's eleven most endangered historic places, the building underwent a $143 million renovation and reopened in 2017.
