Orchestra Hall, a Beaux-Arts concert venue designed by C. Howard Crane and completed in 1919, stands at 3711 Woodward Avenue in Midtown Detroit. The building is celebrated for its exceptional acoustic properties and has served as the home of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the fourth oldest orchestra in the United States, since its opening. In 2003, an adjoining auditorium for jazz and chamber music was added, integrating Orchestra Hall into the Max M. and Marjorie S. Fisher Music Center. The hall was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.
