The Detroit Opera House is an ornate 2,700-seat venue located at 1526 Broadway Street in Downtown Detroit's Grand Circus Park Historic District. Designed by C. Howard Crane and opened on January 22, 1922, it joined his other prominent Detroit theatres, including the Fox Theater and Orchestra Hall. Originally serving as both an opera house and movie theater, the building underwent extensive restoration by Albert Kahn Associates, Inc., and reopened in 1996 as the home of the Detroit Opera and a variety of performing arts events.
