Built in 1942 for veterinarian Dr. William F. Irwin, the City Veterinary Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma is a U-shaped, single-story structure of light-colored brick designed by Hungarian-American architect Joseph R. Koberling, Jr. in the Streamline Moderne style. The building exemplifies this architectural mode through its distinctive curved surfaces, and it has been recognized as an excellent example of Streamline Moderne applied to a small animal facility. Located at 3550 S. Peoria Ave. on a corner property, the hospital has retained many original features and fixtures while undergoing only three major structural changes since its construction. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008, it continues to operate as a veterinary hospital, accompanied by a later brick sign structure bearing the building's name.
