The Converse Memorial Library in Malden, Massachusetts, stands as a significant example of Richardsonian Romanesque architecture, designed by the renowned American architect Henry Hobson Richardson and completed in 1884. Built to serve as the town's public library, the structure at 36 Salem Street housed the Malden Public Library from 1885 until 1996, when operations relocated to a modern adjacent building. The original library remains open to the public on a limited basis and has been recognized for its historical importance, earning listing on both the National Register of Historic Places and designation as a National Historic Landmark.
