The D.A. Varnado and Son Store in Franklinton, Louisiana is a two-story brick commercial building constructed around 1900 in the Italianate style. Originally designed with a second-story gallery wrapping around three sides, the structure was altered in 1925 when this feature was removed and replaced by a metal awning. Recognized for its rare and well-preserved historic shopfront and interior, the building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in July 2001 for its local architectural significance.
