The Danish Jewish Museum in Copenhagen occupies the Danish Royal Library's former Galley House, a postmodern intervention designed by Daniel Libeskind. Opened in June 2004 following construction that began in March 2003, the museum exhibits Danish Jewish historical artifacts and art while memorializing the rescue of Danish Jews from Nazi persecution by their fellow Danes in October 1943.
