The DC Towers, or Donau City Towers, is a mixed-use skyscraper complex in Vienna's Donaustadt District, designed by French architect Dominique Perrault in postmodern style. DC Tower 1, completed in 2014, rises 220 metres (or 250 metres with its antenna spire) to become Austria's tallest building; its structural engineering and facade were developed by Werner Sobek AG. The tower combines a four-star Sol Meliá hotel on its lower fifteen floors with offices—notably for tenant Baxter International—apartments on upper levels, and a restaurant. DC Tower 2, reaching 180 metres, will be Vienna's fourth-tallest structure and will contain offices, shops, and residential units. Construction, delayed by the 2008 financial crisis, began in June 2010, and DC Tower 1 officially opened on 26 February 2014.
