Dunnideer Castle is a ruined tower house near Insch in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, built around 1260 on the site of an earlier prehistoric vitrified hillfort dating to approximately 250 BC. The builders resourcefully reused stone from that ancient fortification in constructing the castle, which measured 15 by 12.5 metres with walls 1.9 metres thick. The structure likely contained a first-floor hall and rose through multiple stories. The castle is now designated part of a Scheduled Monument.
