Elbert County Courthouse stands on Courthouse Square in downtown Elberton, Georgia, serving as the county seat. Designed by Reuben H. Hunt and constructed in 1894, the building exemplifies Romanesque Revival architecture. Its brick exterior was painted white for several decades before being repainted red in the early 2000s to restore the original appearance of the red bricks. The courthouse has been a regional landmark long enough to appear on numerous postcards and was recognized for its historical significance when listed on the National Register of Historic Places on September 18, 1980.
