Built or relocated to its site around 1907, the Ellsworth J. Beggs House at 703 Park Avenue in Park City, Utah exemplifies the Queen Anne and eclectic architectural styles favored in the region. This two-story box house is architecturally significant as one of only about four surviving examples of its type in Park City, and among three well-preserved specimens nominated for historic recognition. Characteristic of the form, it features a square footprint, pyramid or truncated hip roof, and a porch spanning the facade—elements shared with the pyramid house, one of Park City's major residential types. Unlike pyramid houses, which typically rise only one to one-and-a-half stories, the Beggs House achieves its full two-story height, making it a preferred design choice for substantial Park City residences. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984 and has subsequently served as High West Distillery.
