Located in Braga, Portugal, the Estádio Municipal de Braga is an all-seater football stadium completed in 2003 as a venue for UEFA Euro 2004. Designed by Portuguese architect Eduardo Souto de Moura, whose innovative work on the stadium contributed to his later Pritzker Architecture Prize recognition, the facility showcases a striking relationship with its landscape. Nicknamed "A Pedreira" (The Quarry) because it was carved into the side of a hill at its southern end, the stadium blends boldly into the terrain. With a capacity of 30,286 spectators, it is Portugal's seventh-largest football stadium and serves as the home of Sporting Clube de Braga. Owned by the municipality, it remains an important civic and cultural landmark, though it currently lacks legal heritage protection status.
