Designed by Henry Hobson Richardson in 1884 and completed the following year, the F. L. Ames Gardener's Cottage is a small residential structure in North Easton, Massachusetts, built on the original Ames estate. Executed in Richardson's signature Richardsonian Romanesque style, the cottage features a distinctive circular tower at one corner, though its exterior has been substantially renovated and no longer presents the ivy-covered walls historically associated with the building. It was commissioned by Frederick Lothrop Ames, who also engaged Richardson for the neighboring Ames Gate Lodge and the Old Colony Railroad Station, as well as the Ames Free Library and Oakes Ames Memorial Hall elsewhere in North Easton. Despite modern alterations to its exterior, the cottage retains its original footprint and structure.
