Located at 271–301 Cadman Plaza East in Downtown Brooklyn, the Federal Building and Post Office is a Romanesque Revival structure completed in 1891 by architect Mifflin E. Bell. Originally serving as the Brooklyn General Post Office, it remains a functional postal facility while housing the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York in its north addition, as well as offices for the United States Attorney. The building was officially renamed the Conrad B. Duberstein United States Bankruptcy Courthouse in 2009, honoring chief bankruptcy judge Conrad B. Duberstein. A New York City Landmark and National Register of Historic Places listing, the building stands near the Theodore Roosevelt United States Courthouse.
