The Fisher House in Hatboro, Pennsylvania, designed by Louis Kahn in 1967, exemplifies the architect's modernist approach to residential design through its distinctive dual cubic volumes. Built for Dr. Norman Fisher and his wife, Doris, the house features a stone foundation and detailed cypress cladding that define its material character. Rather than pursuing the linear spatial organization typical of modern planning, Kahn employed simple geometry—the intersecting cubes—to distinguish public and private zones within the home. One of only nine houses Kahn designed and built, the Fisher House demonstrates his ability to distill monumental architectural principles into intimate domestic scale, earning it listing on the National Register of Historic Places.
