The Fisher Building, completed in 1928 at 3011 West Grand Boulevard in Detroit's New Center area, is a 30-story landmark office tower designed by architect Albert Kahn. Faced with limestone, granite, and multiple types of marble, the building showcases Art Deco styling and rises 135.47 meters. Financed by the Fisher family through proceeds from the sale of Fisher Body to General Motors, it was conceived to provide office and retail space. The structure houses the ornate 2,089-seat Fisher Theatre, as well as headquarters for the Detroit Public Schools and studios for radio stations WJR, WDVD, and WUFL. Designated a National Historic Landmark in 1989, it also holds listings as a Michigan State Historic Site and place on the National Register of Historic Places.
