The Fittja Mosque in Botkyrka Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden, is built in Turkish-style architecture and was completed in April 2007 after construction began in 1998. Owned by the Islamic Cultural Association in Botkyrka—a predominantly Turkish organization with over 1,500 members—the mosque features a distinctive windowed mid-dome lined with birch wood panels and hand-painted tiles adorning the prayer room walls. A 32.5-meter-high minaret rises above the structure, which also includes a 200-square-meter elevated prayer platform for women and an imam's residence. In April 2013, the mosque became notable as the site of Sweden's first broadcast call to prayer from a minaret, transmitted live by imam Ergin Öcgem under a time-limited police permit restricting broadcasts to once weekly for 2–3 minutes.
