Located in West Whiteland Township, Chester County, Pennsylvania, the Francis W. Kennedy House is a 2½-story Shingle Style dwelling designed by Philadelphia architect Frank Miles Day and completed in 1889. The residence exemplifies the hallmarks of late-nineteenth-century residential design, featuring a gambrel roof, projecting bays and dormers, a corner turret, and wraparound porches that give the structure its characteristic picturesque silhouette. Day, a prominent Philadelphia practitioner (1861–1918), created a home that captures the informal elegance typical of the Shingle Style movement. The house was recognized for its historic significance and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
