The Galerie Vivienne is a neoclassical covered shopping arcade in Paris's 2nd arrondissement, built in 1823 as part of the city's distinctive passage network. Stretching 176 metres long and just 3 metres wide, the gallery exemplifies the elegant, light-filled design of early nineteenth-century commercial architecture. Registered as a historical monument since 1974, it remains one of the best-preserved examples of Paris's covered passages.
