Designed by Santiago Calatrava and completed in 1994, Lyon Saint-Exupéry TGV station is a postmodern railway terminal in Colombier-Saugnieu, directly integrated with Lyon–Saint-Exupéry Airport, approximately 20 kilometers east of Lyon's city centre. Built to serve high-speed TGV trains on the LGV Rhône-Alpes line connecting Paris Gare de Lyon to Marseille Saint-Charles, the station functions as a vital transport interchange for both air and rail travelers. A tram-train connection via the Rhônexpress line provides a 30-minute journey to La Part-Dieu station in central Lyon, linking the airport complex to the city's main railway hub and business district.
