Geneva Airport railway station is an underground train terminus in Le Grand-Saconnex, adjacent to Geneva International Airport's terminal building. Built in postmodern style and opened on 31 May 1987, it sits 250 metres from the airport via a covered walkway at the end of a branch line extending from Lausanne–Geneva line of Swiss Federal Railways. Construction, which began in 1984, required six kilometres of new track and the upgrading of the main line to double track throughout. The station underwent substantial renovation between September 2020 and December 2022, during which a new ceiling designed to evoke the Swiss Alps was installed alongside improved lighting and sound insulation, while platform heights were increased to enhance accessibility.
