Located at 73 Sultan Gate in Kampong Glam, Singapore, Gedung Kuning (the "Yellow Mansion") is a Palladian-style residence built in 1846. Originally conceived as an annexe to the adjacent Istana Kampong Glam, the palace of Singapore's Malay rulers, it later became the private home of Haji Yusoff, a prominent Malayo-Javanese merchant, and remained in his family for four generations. The building's address shifted from 33 Sultan Gate between 1919 and 1925. In 2004, the structure was refurbished as part of the development of the nearby Malay Heritage Centre, standing today as a significant historical landmark in this important Malay district near Masjid Sultan.
