Completed in 2017, Generali Tower is a 177.4-meter neo-futurist office skyscraper in Milan designed by architect Zaha Hadid. Also known as Hadid Tower or lo Storto ("the Twisted One"), the 44-story structure features a distinctive warped geometry in which both floor dimensions and orientation shift along the tower's axis. The building employs a concrete and composite structural system anchored by a central core that serves as the primary resisting element; its foundations comprise a 2.5-meter-thick concrete raft supported by 64 piles arranged in clusters to manage settlement. The core's composite lintels combine steel, rebar, and concrete to resist torsional forces generated by the warped column arrangement. A steel free-form podium surrounds the base for commercial use. The tower houses offices for Assicurazioni Generali, the world's third-largest insurance group by revenue, and received first place in the high-rise category from the American Concrete Institute in October 2019.
