The Georgia O'Keeffe Museum opened on July 17, 1997, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, eleven years after the artist's death, to celebrate her artistic legacy and contributions to American modernism. Designed in Pueblo Revival style architecture, the institution expanded beyond its founding gallery to encompass multiple sites across two locations: the main Museum Galleries in Santa Fe, along with a library and archive housed in the historic A.M. Bergere house, an Education Annex for programming, and museum stores; and in Abiquiu, the O'Keeffe Home and Studio, a Welcome Center, and the Ghost Ranch property, which remains closed to the public.
