The Glasgow City Chambers, designed by William Young in the Victorian architectural style, has served as the seat of Glasgow's municipal government since its completion in 1889. Situated on the eastern side of George Square, this Category A listed building functioned as the headquarters of successive municipal administrations before becoming the official base of Glasgow City Council in 1996. The structure exemplifies Victorian civic architecture and remains a defining landmark of the city's governance.
