The Lighthouse is a Category A listed art museum in Glasgow housed in a converted newspaper office building designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh and completed in 1895. Originally the headquarters of the Glasgow Herald, the structure exemplifies Art Nouveau architecture and was reimagined as Scotland's Centre for Design and Architecture, opening in 1999 during Glasgow's tenure as UK City of Architecture and Design. The building remained a prominent cultural institution until its closure during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.
