Grace Episcopal Church stands at 116 City Island Avenue in The Bronx, a Carpenter Gothic structure built in 1862. The church complex, which includes a rectory constructed in the Italian Villa style around the same period, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2006. The modest wooden church represents a distinctive nineteenth-century architectural tradition that employed Gothic Revival aesthetics through carpentry rather than masonry, lending the structure its characteristic delicate detailing and pointed arches.
