Guy's Hospital is an NHS teaching hospital in the London Borough of Southwark, founded in 1721 by the philanthropist Thomas Guy and now part of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. Its Tower Wing, completed in 1974 at 148.65 metres with 34 floors, was the tallest hospital building in the world until The Belaire in New York City overtook it in 1988, and it remains one of London's tallest buildings.
