The H. P. Luckett House is a Queen Anne style Victorian residence in Bastrop, Texas, built around 1892 for Dr. H. P. Luckett, a prominent local physician who had practiced medicine in the town for nearly five decades. The 14-room house cost $14,000 and showcased refined details including carved entry doors and millwork shipped by flatcar from Houston. The site had previously held the Bastrop Academy, a leading Texas school founded in 1851, which later became the Bastrop Military Institute during the Civil War era. After the city purchased the property and established a public school system in 1892, Dr. Luckett acquired the land, demolished the academy buildings, and constructed his residence. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978 and designated a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 2011, the house remained home to only three families over more than a century.
