Built in 1594–95 in Gjakova's Old Bazaar, the Hadum Mosque is an Ottoman structure financed by Hadum Sylejman Efendia. Attributed to the renowned architect Mimar Sinan, the mosque exemplifies classic Islamic-Kosovar style with its rectangular form and dome-covered design. The entrances feature floral paintings, geometric motifs, Qur'anic inscriptions, and arabesques, while surrounding tombs of respected local families bear sculpted decorations and Ottoman-language epitaphs. A hamam once adjoined the complex until its destruction in World War II. The 1999 conflict devastated the surrounding area, leaving the mosque and minaret standing amid damaged ornamentation. Today designated a Cultural Heritage Monument of Kosovo of Exceptional Importance, the Hadum Mosque remains a significant example of Ottoman architectural heritage in the region.
