Hartland Point Lighthouse stands on the Devon peninsula that marks the western boundary of the Bristol Channel, where it meets the Atlantic Ocean. Built in 1874 and designed by engineer James Nicholas Douglass, this 18-metre brick lighthouse was constructed under the authority of Trinity House, the official lighthouse service for England and Wales. Now Grade II listed, it remains an essential navigation marker at this strategically significant coastal point.
