The Harvard-Epworth United Methodist Church in Cambridge, Massachusetts, adjacent to Harvard Law School, exemplifies Richardsonian Romanesque architecture. Designed by Worcester architect Amos P. Cutting and constructed by Cutting and Bishop, the building was funded primarily by philanthropist Frederick Hastings Rindge and George Bird. Its cornerstone was laid on October 3, 1891, and the church was dedicated on February 22, 1893. Constructed of Southville red granite with East Longmeadow sandstone trim, the structure features a square central tower rising 110 feet and crowned with a distinctive red pyramidal roof. The interior is appointed with fine woodwork. The congregation itself was formally organized in 1941 through the merger of Harvard Street Methodist Church and Epworth Methodist Church.
