The house at 115–117 Jewett Street in Newton Corner, Massachusetts, exemplifies the academic style of Second Empire design. Built in the 1860s, this 2½-story wood-frame residence features a projecting entry portico—a hallmark of the academic variant—and decorated dormers with segmented-arch and round-arch tops. The property retains well-preserved period details and includes a mansard-roofed carriage house with cupola. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
