Located in Newton, Massachusetts, the House at 215 Brookline Street is one of the town's oldest residences, with its earliest section built around 1693 by Thomas Hastings, a prominent civic figure of the period. Originally constructed as a saltbox, the structure was later refined with simple but high-quality Georgian styling. The 2½-story, five-bay house presents an unusual north-facing orientation—contrary to the period convention of southern exposure—and features narrow clapboard siding with a classically detailed main entrance flanked by pilasters and topped by a shallow hood. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.
