The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, located on Xihuamen Street in Chengdu's Qingyang District, is a Roman Catholic cathedral built in 1897 and serving as the seat of the Diocese of Chengdu. The structure blends Sichuanese, Byzantine Revival, and Renaissance Revival architectural traditions, reflecting the complex cultural synthesis of late-nineteenth-century Catholic missions in China. Since 1957, it has operated under the administration of the Chinese Catholic Patriotic Association. The cathedral holds the status of a Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level, recognizing its significance as both a religious and architectural landmark within China's cultural heritage.
