A complex of 1960s modernist office buildings in Boston's Government Center, the John F. Kennedy Federal Building was designed by Walter Gropius and The Architects Collaborative, along with Samuel Glaser. Built between 1963 and 1966, the composition comprises two offset 26-story towers, each rising 387 feet, positioned on-axis to one another and connected by a four-story, low-rise structure via an enclosed glass corridor. Located adjacent to City Hall Plaza and diagonal to Boston City Hall, the complex exemplifies the era's modernist design principles and was recognized with listing on the National Register of Historic Places in 2021.
