Located at 322 West Marlin Street in McPherson, Kansas, the John R. Wright House is a Queen Anne-style residence built in 1887 of wood. The house is historically significant for its association with John R. Wright (1841–1926), a Civil War veteran who lost his left arm at the Battle of Fayetteville, West Virginia, and later became a Kansas homesteader, businessman, county clerk, and postmaster. Recognized for both its architectural merit as a Queen Anne Revival dwelling and its historical importance, the house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002 and is listed on the Register of Historic Kansas Places.
