The Jonathan Child House & Brewster–Burke House Historic District comprises two significant antebellum residences in Rochester, New York. The Jonathan Child House, built 1837–1838 at 37 South Washington Street by Rochester's first mayor, exemplifies Greek Revival architecture with its imposing two-story portico; the structure later served as a boarding house called The Pillars before conversion to an events venue. The Brewster-Burke House, located at 130 Spring Street, blends Italianate design with Moorish Revival ornamentation, featuring a hipped roof with cupola and an ornately carved entrance porch. Together, these homes reflect Rochester's architectural heritage and were designated to the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.
