Kallio Church, a Lutheran landmark in Helsinki's Kallio district, was completed in 1912 to designs by architect Lars Sonck. Rising 65 meters, the church exemplifies National Romanticism with Art Nouveau influences, its massive body constructed of gray granite—a traditional Finnish material central to the style. The building's aesthetic draws from nature-inspired colours and decorative motifs characteristic of the period. Since its completion, Kallio Church has become one of Helsinki's most prominent landmarks, renowned for its excellent acoustics that have made it a favored venue for concerts, particularly organ music. Today, the building and its interior are protected by Helsinki's city plan, along with the surrounding sub-area.
