Built in 1885 as a house and expanded between 1928 and 1932, Kanab Lodge in Kanab, Utah, exemplifies Colonial Revival architecture. The Utah Parks Company enlarged the original structure to serve as a tourist rest stop positioned strategically halfway between the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and Zion or Bryce Canyon National Parks. The building has since housed various commercial enterprises, including the Parry Cafeteria, Utah Parks Building, and Wok Inn restaurant, and is now operated as the restaurant Jakes Chaparral.
