Kockica, a 10-story brutalist structure completed in 1968 in Zagreb's Trnje district, was designed by Croatian architect Ivan Vitić and originally commissioned as headquarters for the Central Committee of the League of Communists of Croatia. The building's name—a diminutive form of the Croatian word for "cube"—reflects its geometric aesthetic. Construction began in 1963 but was delayed by the devastating 1964 Zagreb flood before completion five years later. Today it houses the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure and the Ministry of Tourism, and is registered among Croatia's cultural goods.
